Marte Klepsvik first allowed herself to be tempted by her cousin to study in Australia. On hearing his stories as an international student, Klepsvik, who had already applied to study in her home country at Norway's Bergen University, decided to investigate the courses on offer at Curtin.

"I found the Aquatic Science/Coastal Zone Management bachelor to have very interesting subjects and so I applied," Klepsvik said. "I couldn't find any universities in Norway that had a course that compared itself to the one at Curtin."
